We are pleased to announce that Hally Labels Group has acquired a majority shareholding in AC Labels Pty Ltd effective the 1st May 2013.
Both parties see this as an exciting opportunity as they look to grow and develop their core businesses.
Hally Labels is a family-owned specialist Labelling Business that has been operating since 1965. It operates 3 manufacturing sites across NZ and Australia, employs approximately 200 people, and has sales throughout the South Pacific Region. Group Head office is based in Auckland and the Australian headquarters are located in Darra, Brisbane and currently has 85 employees.
AC Labels Pty Ltd commenced as a family business in 1974 until 2004 when Frank Gavrilos (ex Managing Director Avery Dennison Australia) as CEO and other senior staff acquired the business from the founding shareholders. The business operates at Wetherill Park in Sydney with sales throughout Australia, employing approximately 50 people.
This investment offers Hally Labels a unique opportunity to grow its business by incorporating a complementary business that includes an excellent management team and skilled personnel, like equipment and a complementary customer base. It will also enable Hally Labels to develop a greater share of the Australian labelling market, strengthen its operations, provide additional opportunities for staff, and a more secure future for the business through the strategic continuous growth program. The Digital capability existing in AC Labels will complement the Hally Labels New Zealand Digital press business and provide the Australian business with increased flexibility and an improved market offer.
For AC Labels, this investment will enable the business to continue its programme of growth, innovation and expansion through support from the existing skills and support with Hally Labels complementing the existing capabilities.
Both companies see this as an extremely positive step with the objective of a business as usual approach but with immediate benefits to be obtained for all stakeholders of both entities; customers, staff, suppliers and shareholders.
